I have tried doing the 365 thing multiple times. I think the longest time I lasted was for about a fortnight. I usually don't get past 3-8 days though.
I brought a DSLR hoping to take good quality photographs, so that when I have children, I know what I am doing and I am able to present them with an artistic and beautiful time capsule of their lives growing up with me.
Unfortunately, I struggle with doing daily tasks, even if they are supposed to be fun. I thought getting a dog would push me to take photos more often, maybe not if every day, every week. Wrong! I've gone out and taken photos of him, three, maybe four times. There have been occassional moments where hes been doing something cute and my camera has been within arms reach so I've grabbed it and gotten a quick shot, but it doesn't happen nearly as often as it should.
I started writing for squidoo yesterday. It is an online community where you can submit money and make money off any writing you do. I made multiple topics about things that interest me, profile pages for myself etc. I want to use it as a place to conduct research and show people the results of my findings on google, and answer the questions I didn't previously know myself. I've only had one ''lenses'' made official so far, but hopefully many more will follow.
I want to teach people how to take photos everyday, and often. Its funny and nearly hypocritical, because I don't know how to do that myself. I'm determined to find out though!
I think one of the things that puts me off taking photos everyday is because I feel self conscious about what other people will think when they see me carrying a tripod around and taking photos of myself, sometimes its inconveniant and people get annoyed at me and my camera is so heavy its not like I can just pull it out at any moment! I would love to get a second camera that I could just slip into my pocket, but I need to pay off my computer, and theres a whole list of camera equipment and non photographic equipment things on my list of things to buy. Depressing.
Today my goals are to sort out some of the files on my computer, do a brief tidy up of the house, including the big pile of dishes in the kitchen, sort out my bedroom, walk the dog and catch up on my sleep. Anything else would be a bonus, but I would be lying if I said I had no interest in doing more writing on squidoo today. Maybe I should take a break? I stayed on the computer for fifteen hours straight yesterday and skipped two meals. This morning I was so engrossed in what I was doing, I forgot that my toast had popped up, and it took two hours for me to return to the kitchen to eat breakfast!
Footed Melon Holloware Water Pitcher Homan Silverplate Company 1896 1904
Check out this GORGEOUS Antique Holloware Water Pitcher by The Homan American Silver Plate Company!
This grand old tarnished beauty stands 7" tall on her four dainty little feet, 8.5" across from her graceful curvy handle to the lacy edge of her generous pour spout.
The simple act of pouring a glass of water from this elegant antique will make you feel like a princess, for real.
If you enjoy the darkened patina of tarnished vintage silver, this pitcher is picture perfect! Otherwise she could use a really good polishing. I've left that choice entirely up to you.
She's been in service for a very long time, her plating is still very much intact, but please note that there are some scratches and a shallow 1/2" dent in her midsection. (Please use the Zoom tool to take a good close look.)
The Homan Manufacturing Company's history dates back to 1847. Henry Homan and Asa F. Flagg formed a partnership in Cincinnati, Ohio for the manufacture of pewter wares.
After Henry died, his widow and sons ran the firm until 1887. During this period, they changed over a great deal of their production to electroplating with silver and sometimes gold.
Between the years of 1896 and 1904 the firm was listed as the Homan Silver Plate Co. and were well known for ecclesiastical designs (chalices, beakers, tankards, etc.) Homan also had many commissions from the Ohio and Mississippi riverboat lines for the manufacturing of luxury equipment ranging from silver plated swivel lamps to fancy silver plated water pitchers.
